Winter Atomiades 2017

Have you ever heard about the Winter Atomiades?

This is a fun event that brings together several research institutes from 16 European countries to play sports, both in summer and in winter.

In 2017, the Winter Atomiades event will take place at Alpe d’Huez (Grenoble), France, from March 11th to 18th.

CERN will be represented by a team from the Ski Club CERN, and the Staff Association contributes to ~50% of the expenses to participate.

So come and defend the CERN colors in the competitions! There will be competitions for cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and snowboarding. The only requirement for participation is to be a member of the Ski Club CERN and to have a good skiing or snowboarding level (at least level 2.0).

The participation fee of 470 EUR or 400 Euro includes:

Subscription to any competition (downhill, cross-country skiing and/or Snowboarding) x
Subscription to cross-country skiing competitions, only  – x
Acccomodation in a double room including half-board (more details to come) x x
Fuel and toll fees for a return trip (private car-sharing to be organised by the participants) x x
6-days ski pass (Saturday to Friday) for the entire ski resort x

The participation fee does not include:

  • lunches, drinks
  • drivers and other expenses related to the car-sharing to be organised by the participants using their own vehicles.

If you want to participate

  1. select the article « Atomiades » in the catalogue and
  2. complete the following Doodle:
    to choose which types of competitions you want to participate in: « Cross Country » for participation in cross country competitions, only; « Downhill » for participation in any competition, regardless of the discipline

Registration will close on Thursday, December 8th, at latest.
After this deadline, the organizing team at Alpe d’Huez will block further registrations, and it will NOT be possible to unsubscribe.
