Hello everybody,
As you may have noticed while visiting our site, The Joyeux Quadrille is a Horse Rescue Association. Everyone here is volunteering, there are no employees. Everyone participates according to their skills and knowledges : For example, Johanna started helping maintaining the infrastructures and the fences because she was not yet qualified to train the horses. After a month of hard work around them and with the help of the members of the association, she got to spend more time training and taking care of the horses. Within 3 months, she was fully integrated to our team as if she had always been here. However some people can’t afford to stay that long.
We are now fully aware of this status difference.
Therefore, we offer 2 types of stays:
Cultural – touristic days
We’ll accompany you on visits to parts/cities of the area once a week (you can of course go alone if you prefer). If you want to go during your free time, we’ll bring you to the closest bus station. There are also nice walks to have around here.
Your tasks
You’ll help daily feeding the horses, cleaning their paddocks, taking care of the fences and other infrastructures.
Occasionally you’ll have to participate in :
- staining the shelters.
- sandpapering and painting the jumping bars.
- repairing and building new linking bars.
- Rearranging the horse’s working areas.
- Planting stakes.
- Cleaning, organizing the area.
- any other constructions (building a wall, trenching…)
- etc…
Please fill the adhesion formulary (individual) online, mentioning your WWOOFer number, the exact dates of your stay (inclusive), if you prefer to come as a WWOOFer* or as a volunteer.
*We cannot host two WWOOFers at the same time as we have a limited budget and providing for the horses is our priority.
